8/14 - All Of Our Prayers Were Exhausted in SPOOOOOOOKAAAAAAAANE, WA

Nicest house ever. Thanks Andy!

There is something absolutely magnificent about the carpet in Andy's house. Absolutely the softest carpet ever. Anyway, we woke up in Seattle well rested. Our host, Andy, was so kind to let us take showers in his beautiful house. Coincidentally, he mentioned that the last band he put up in his house was the mighty Woods Of Ypres, back when they were on the road. (Dear Evan Madden, if you're reading this post, just know that we stayed with the same dude that you did when you were in Seattle a while back!) We left Seattle at about midday in search of cheap burgers.

How'd you get so tall!?!
We landed at Dick's burgers of Seattle. What a cool place that was. Retro feeling diner with burgers for $1.80. Certainly not the best burger I've ever eaten, but it was amazing all the same to us because the rare occurrences that we have the luxury of eating beef are sacred!

We like to put Dick's in our mouth

We come to fuck shit up, and eat burgers...but we already ate our burgers.

After a quick lunch at Dick's, we started east toward Spokane, WA. The drive out there was absolutely beautiful. Washington and the entire Pacific Northwest are absolutely glorious places to sightsee. There are crystal clear rivers, beautiful mountains, and pine trees the world over.

Now we can see what all those Cascadian black metal bands were talking about.

We arrived in Spokane to be greeted by the absolute coolest venue yet. The Hop in downtown Spokane is a cool, two story building, bar upstairs, patio downstairs, sick facilities, good bar food, high ceilings, excellent soundsystem, alksdjf. ALL of it rocked.

Legend of the Phantom Sound Guy
This was probably our favorite show yet for a lot of reasons. We got to play with 4 absolutely killer bands. This was the first bill that had zero sub-par acts. Every group that took the stage blew us away, and the crowd was great....on a Tuesday! Starting off the gig was Odyssey, a straight up prog metal band from Spokane. They are fantastic musicians and fantastic dudes. We picked up one of their latest CDs and have been spinning it quite a bit! Check it out if you don't know them. Autolatry got on the stage next. We were well received by the crowd, had a great time playing that stage. Third up was a two piece ambient sludge band called Hooves. They had a very unique and interesting sound. We also picked up their CD and are enjoying the fuck out of it. Check them out. Next was some old friends of ours, the mighty Exhausted Prayer! These dudes are absolutely amazing. They've put out 3 albums, and are still totally independent. They all have pretty intense day jobs, so odds are that anyone on the east coast hasn't heard of them. (For those who don't know, drummer Mike is also the drummer of Dreaming Dead). They are super nice dudes, who we enjoyed hanging with all night. They're currently working on some new material (which they played some of) and was absolutely awesome. Their most recent effort, "Worst of All Possible Worlds" is our current favorite CD to spin. Support our friends! They've just embarked on a west coast tour too, so check out their tour dates and see them if they're coming to your area! Closing out the night was death metal local shredders Zingaia who closed out the night with furosity

Exhausted Prayer killing it!

After the show, we cramped into the car and went back to the dudes from Zingaia's house. They were very hospitable. We enjoyed the great conversation of the guys from Exhausted Prayer. Fucking great night!
