A couple days ago we were informed that our show at Strange Matter in Richmond, VA had been cancelled. This was a major bummer, especially since its a Saturday, and all our last-minute replacements fell through yesterday. So instead of bumming around Philly for an extra day, we decided to pile back in the tour-mobile and head to Harrisonburg a day early. This proved to be a good call! The mile six hour drive took us through some incredible scenery in Maryland, Northern Virginia and West Virginia. My phone's camera really doesn't do the sights justice!
Harrisonburg is a cool as fuck town. Classy looking downtown, lots of houses lining the streets and awesome people. We did a little exploring around with our hosts for the night and ended up raging hard with these fellas at an indie house show down the road. I tried to get a shot of Karl talking up the local birds; apparently he was a hit! Missing out on a gig is never good, but we certainly made the best of it and had a hell of a time!
This morning breakfast consists of beans and veggies - perfect portable and filling road food. We're really looking forward to hitting the stage tonight with a couple awesome bands, although Joe is still finding ways to sleep through the day! Will post about the actual gig tomorrow, so stay tuned!!!
