Wednesday morning the wolfpack awoke well-rested and frothing with excitement for our Sacramento gig. As fun as the day off was, the collective anxiety to get back on stage was excessive to say the least. By mid-morning the pack was back on track and headed toward the state capital!
After a slight detour to the actual capital building, we arrived at On The Y... about six hours before doors were slated to open. In typical Autolatry fashion, we set off on foot in search of a coffeeshop for the purpose of iced coffee regeneration and phone regarcheration.

Still hours left to wait |
It felt great to get back onto the stage and play our set, although I must admit that it was a tough crowd. We don't always go over well with the trve black metal folks, but that's just the reality of playing every night for a different scene in a new and different city. After our set, our three under-21's had to leave the bar, so I (Dave here) held down the fort inside.

almost ready |
The four bands that followed us were each enjoyable in their own way. Hallow, a great doom band from Eugene, Oregon spanned thirty minutes with just one song. They were one of the doomiest bands I had ever heard, ever!
The Rain In Endless Fall were next, and their mix of melancholic melodies, raw blackness and elaborate stage setup provided an earful and an eyeful. Sacramento natives
Chronaexus played as a 3-piece and their breakneck tempos and incredible guitar proficiency was quite striking. The kings of the Central Valley,
Rotten Funeral, headlined the night and slayed pretty hard with straight up second-wave grimness.

Fuck yeah |
Big thanks go to all the bands, and Jaime of Rotten Funeral for organizing and promoting the show last night. Two Cali dates down with three to go now! Currently writing from San Rafael, where we will play at The Riff Gallery tonight. Read the write-up tomorrow!
